BIO
Kapil Sahnan is a colorectal surgeon based in London. He works at St Mark’s Hospital, London, the UK’s National Bowel Hospital, and has a tertiary referral practice in proctology and IBD. He co-leads the IBD robotic programme and hosts many international trainees and visitors annually.
He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate training at Imperial College London and has trained in Oxford, Bristol and completed the prestigious European Society’s Coloproctology’s fellowship in robotic colorectal cancer surgery in Barcelona. He is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London with experience supervising PhD students, developing and delivering surgical education programmes at undergraduate and post graduate levels. He has built an international reputation and is recognised as a global key opinion leader. He has over 100 peer-review publications and is currently supervising 2 PhD students in thesis regarding ileoanal pouch surgery and the role of artificial intelligence in robotic surgery.
