I created, launched and currently run Imperial's "Excellence in Clinical Education" CPD course for clinical teachers which is accredited through the Academy of Medical Educators.

I was King’s Undergraduate Medical Education in the Community (KUMEC) programme for years 1 & 2. I took a lead role in designing the MBBS Curriculum 2020 Longitudinal GP Placement, and I was module lead. I led the Practice of Medicine strand in the outgoing KCL curriculum.

Human Values: I worked with KCL's professionalism lead to introduce positive professional development into current professionalism teaching.

Clinical Humanities: I built a collaboration with KCL's Dental School, the Cultural Institute and the Department of Medical Humanities to incorporate a clinical humanities project into their Stage 2 GP Placement, where students are achieving clinical learning outcomes through the humanities. I secured a £10,000 award through the D'Oyly Carte Charitable Trust.

Assessment: I was Deputy Assessment Lead for Year 1 in KCL’s outgoing curriculum, supporting the quality of written assessments; I have worked with the OSCE Management Group to introduce domain-based marking, initially piloted in the Y2 history station, now rolled out across all OSCEs.

Quality Improvement: I piloted quality improvement projects in KCL's primary care placements (see publication list); and supported the introduction of Quality Improvement into MBBS Curriculum as a member of the Quality Improvement Working Group. I am supporting the quality improvement curriculum at Imperial College.

Widening Participation: My aim is to increase patient, public and student participation in the curriculum, its delivery and assessment. I have instigated student and clinical teacher participation groups within KUMEC. I delivered an annual widening participation lecture on primary care with a large number of students participating as co-hosts. I have a publication on diversity in clinical academia.
Teaching experience

Postgraduate teaching: educational evaluation on the Masters in surgical Education at Imperial College London; facilitator on the Masters in Clinical Education at KCL and Masters in Public Health at KCL; assessor on the Masters in Public Health at Imperial College London; social prescribing for City & Hackney GP Training; Sustainable inhaler prescribing for PrescQIPP; sustainable healthcare for the Faculty of Public Health and Public Health England; personalised care planning and health coaching for Year of Care.

Clinical teaching: health coaching; personalised care; sustainable healthcare; clinical locum teaching; clinical skills teacher; simulation teaching at RCGP Euston Square, phase 4 behaviour change skills teaching, year 2 & phase 5 clinical role play facilitator.

Faculty development: I led an AoME-accredited educational faculty development course for clinical teachers, which is being expanded nationally. I have led educational faculty development workshops on behaviour change, addressing obesity, interprofessional communication, working across language barriers, workshop facilitation, feedback, teaching in small groups, introduction to teaching for KUMEC, practical applications of educational theory, peer review, collaborative care planning, and the clinical humanities. I participate regularly in peer observation of teaching.

Classroom teaching: facilitator for KUMEC year 1&2 seminars; Interprofessional Education workshops on pain management, patient safety, teamwork; Schools Outreach workshops on working with vulnerable patient groups; Global Health teaching on FGM and climate change

E-learning and blended learning: Addressing Obesity in a Consultation for King’s Health Partners; Sustainable Healthcare section of Quality Improvement e-learning module for GKT School of Medical Education; Stage 2 Longitudinal Placement Module on KEATS (KCL Moodle platform). I have supported the Professional Values and Behaviours theme at Imperial in implementing online quality improvement workshops to over 350 students.
