BIO

Kelsey is Associate Director in the iCare Team at Imperial College NHS Trust (ICHT). 

 

Kelsey is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Health Innovation at Imperial College London. 

 

Prior to her role at ICHT, Kelsey was Deputy Director of Patient Safety for Digital at NHS England where she was responsible for developing and delivering the NHS's Digital Clinical Safety Strategy. She also led on major digital safety programmes including Scan4Safety and managing national level digital safety incidents. 

 

Previously, Kelsey was Policy Fellow and the Patient Safety Lead the NIHR Patient Safety Translational Research Centre (PSTRC) and the Deputy Director of the MSc in Patient Safety. She continues to play an advisory role on various patient safety and academic committees at a local, national and international level. Kelsey also led the operational management of the WHO Global Patient Safety Collaborative, a multi-national consortium designed to strengthen patient safety leadership, capacity building and research development in low and middle income countries. Before joining Imperial, Kelsey worked at Picker Institute Europe where she was responsible for delivering National Patient Survey Programme work and a diverse range of policy research projects.


Academically, Kelsey was a Co-Module Lead for the MSc in Patient Safety and she maintains a research portfolio of activities relating to patient safety, digital health and learning from patient feedback. Kelsey has completed a PhD in Health Policy at Imperial College London and MSc in Comparative Social Policy at the University of Oxford.
