BIO

Dr Krishanu Dey is a postdoctoral researcher in the Applied Energy Materials group within the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. He also holds a part-time Stipendiary Lectureship in Engineering Science at Trinity College Oxford. Before moving to Imperial, he was a postdoctoral researcher in Prof. Henry Snaith’s group at the Department of Physics, University of Oxford and a Junior Research Fellow at Worcester College Oxford. He completed his PhD in Physics under the supervision of Prof. Sam Stranks at the Cavendish Laboratory, University of Cambridge and an M.Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the National University of Singapore.

Over the past 7-8 years, his research has centred on investigating the fundamental properties of halide perovskite materials and translating those insights into high-performance (opto)electronic devices, including solar cells, field effect transistors and light emitting diodes. He has already published 18 peer-reviewed publications and 2 book chapters (with > 1200 citations to date), including first-author contributions in leading journals such as Nature Materials, Energy and Environmental Science & Advanced Materials. His contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, such as the the Royal Society of Chemistry Energy Sector Best PhD Thesis Award (2023), the IET Hudswell International Research Award (2022), and the E-MRS Graduate Student Award (2021).

Beyond research, Krish is an active contributor to the scientific community. He has delivered 13 ORAL presentations in leading international conferences and has served as the Lead Organizer for 3 international symposia in MATSUS conferences (Fall 2024, Spring 2025 and Fall 2025). Besides these, he has already raised ~ £150k in research grants (as PI/co-PI/Researcher Co-I) and ~ £190k in personal funding through scholarships and travel grants). He has also supervised 7 master’s and undergraduate research projects and established multiple international collaborations, reflecting his commitment to both research leadership and mentorship.
