TEACHING INTERESTS
I am passionate about teaching, and am lucky enough to teach two subjects I am passionate about.
Biofluids (part of the Biomechanics module) aims to teach students how to apply fundamental fluid mechanics ideas to biofluid mechanics problems. The course is split into sections on macro-vasculature, micro-vasculature, biotransport and applications, with numerous examples inspired by my own experience in the lab.
The course is delivered to 3rd year undergraduate and MSc biomedical engineering students.
My 'Probability and Statistics for Bioengineers' course takes on the unenviable challenge of making statistics and data analysis an interesting subject!
We work on the basis that good data analysis and presentation are core to achieving impact with your science and engineering.
We cover underlying principles of probability, leading into common statistical methods, including t-tests, ANOVA, correlation and their non-parametric alternatives. Throughout the course, we use simple MATLAB programming and simulation to provide insight and build intuition.
The course is delivered to all 3rd year undergraduate students.
