BIO

With a strong foundation in immunology and structural dermatology, I am currently a member of the Strid group, working on understanding how local immune structures contribute to anti-cancer responses in the skin. I have previously worked on screening compounds for anti-aging potential in human skin equivalent models, as well as researching atopic dermatitis, antimicrobial peptides and influenza.

My experiences has culminated in high-level expertise regarding disease modelling in vivo and in vitro, microscopy including multiplex imaging, and ex-vivo human disease research. With this knowledge, I have recently acted as a consultant to a number of projects, including those with a clinical focus. I have also increased my supervisory activities, becoming second supervisor to several MSc Immunology research projects, as well as aiding in day-to-day lab teaching. This element of my work has resulted in an Advance HE fellowship (FHEA), recognising that my teaching methodologies align with the Professional Standards Framework.

I have been successful in a number of small grants, bursaries and awards, including the Wellcome Trust Vacation Studentship Scholarship, the CRUK Cambridge Institute Summer Scholarship, a SULSA Postdoctoral and Early Career Research Exchange grant, University of Edinburgh IRR Early Career Innovators Competition and British Society for Immunology Career Enhancement Award. These are in addition to the travel grants and bursaries which have allowed me to attend and present at both national and international conferences.

I also act as a Postdoc Representative for my department at Imperial, am an active member of the London Postdoc Network, and participate in several mentorship schemes, both as a mentee and mentor to students.
