MrJack Bartlett

Jack (he/him) is a PhD student whose work is focused on contrail modelling. Contrails are the line-shaped clouds which can form behind aircraft and cause warming by trapping Earth's outgoing radiation. By improving our representation of contrails across scales in modelling, Jack's research aims to improve our understanding of their evolution and help constrain their radiative forcing.

Jack is supervised by Dr. Sebastian Eastham in Aeronautics and Prof. Marc Stettler in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He is a student in the Aerosol Science Centre for Doctoral Training and is associated with the Brahmal Vasudevan Institute for Sustainable Aviation.

Previously, Jack studied for an MSci in Physics at Imperial College London where he specialised in Atmospheric Physics. In his Master's project, he explored the effect of solar geoengineering on atmospheric stability and thus surface temperature patterns.
