MsJi Young Yoon

As Head of Technical Operations in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Ji provides strategic leadership for the department’s laboratories, workshops, and technical services, ensuring they effectively support world-class research, teaching, and external engagement. 

Ji leads the planning, development, and operational management of the department’s technical facilities, ensuring laboratories operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with current and future academic priorities. She oversees technical service delivery, equipment strategy and procurement, and budget management, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to support evolving research and teaching needs.

Working closely with departmental leadership, Ji leads and advises on both short- and long-term strategic planning for space, technical infrastructure, and staffing. She also oversees building and facilities matters, including maintenance, refurbishment, and capital projects, ensuring departmental spaces remain compliant, functional, and fit for purpose.

Ji leads and develops the department’s technical staff, supporting their professional development and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. She also works closely with departmental safety leadership to support risk management and health and safety compliance across laboratories and technical facilities.

Through strategic planning, operational leadership, and cross-institutional collaboration, Ji plays a key role in strengthening the department’s technical capability and enabling excellence in Civil and Environmental Engineering research and education.
