DrJames Warner

James is a consultant old age psychiatrist in CNWL foundation Trust. He works in the NHS as a liaison psychiatrist at Imperial College Healthcare and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals, as National Professional Advisor for Old Age Psychiatry at the Care Quality Commission and as Medical Director for Red & Yellow Care.

James is a passionate educator and has held a number of key appointments including vertical theme lead for student experience in Imperial College, Director of Medical Education and Director of Clinical Studies for CNWL Foundation Trust. He was awarded the Royal College of Psychiatrists trainer of the year in 2011. He also undertakes research in a variety of themes including treatment of dementia and service provision. He has over 100 peer reviewed publications.

James is the UK representative on the World Psychiatric Association section of Old Age Psychiatry and served as Chair of the Old Age Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists between 2012 and 2016 where he led the campaign to reverse ageless mental health services.
