BIO
Dr Jovanna Tsoutsouki is a Clinical Lecturer in Endocrinology in the Section of Endocrinology and Investigative Medicine at Imperial College London.
She obtained her undergraduate medical degree from University College London (UCL) in 2014, where she also completed an intercalated BSc in Physiology with first-class honours. She later earned a postgraduate qualification in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Queen Mary University of London and holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Jovanna completed her PhD in Reproductive Endocrinology in 2025 under the supervision of Professor Waljit Dhillo, Professor Alexander Comninos, and Dr Ali Abbara. Her doctoral research focused on kisspeptin and its role in reproductive neuroendocrinology, leading to publications in high-impact journals, oral presentations at national and international endocrine conferences, and awards from the Society for Endocrinology and the Endocrine Society.
As part of her 4-year NIHR-funded Academic Clinical Lectureship, her research investigates the mechanisms underlying the control of reproductive pathways in humans, with particular emphasis on hypothalamic regulation and novel therapeutic approaches.
Beyond her research, Jovanna is a passionate educator at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, delivering small-group tutorials, bedside teaching, and lectures at Imperial College School of Medicine.
Jovanna is an elected member of the Society for Endocrinology's Public Engagement Committee and serves as a content editor for 'You and Your Hormones', the Society's public-facing resource. She is also an elected member of the Society for Endocrinology's Metabolism and Obesity Network working group.
