EART60031 - Space Mining

This 10-week module delves into space resource mining through ten 2-hour sessions, focusing on law and ethics, technical aspects, and economic feasibility, including benefits to terrestrial resources.

Students engage in two group assignments: developing a legal framework for space resources and creating an interactive poster for a novel space resource company. Industry experts lead lectures on technologies, ethics, law, business strategy, terrestrial spinoffs, and sustainability.

By the end of the course, students gain a comprehensive understanding of space mining and its potential impacts.
