BIO

Structural biologist (cryo-EM) and protein scientist with 6+ years of experience at the interface of protein science, membrane biochemistry, and microbiology, with a focus on antimicrobial resistance and viral infection. I specialise in understanding the mechanism of action of bacterial nanomachines by solving atomic structures of challenging macromolecular assemblies — including membrane proteins, protein-ligand complexes, and large multi-subunit machines — providing mechanistic insight and high-resolution structure determination. I have led first-in-field structural characterisations published in Cell, Nature Microbiology, Nature Reviews Microbiology, and Nature Communications. My expertise spans the entire gene-to-structure pipeline: genetic engineering and protein production, biophysical and biochemical characterisation, large-scale purification, cryo-EM data collection and advanced computational processing, and atomic model building.
