BIO

Jessica is a Climate Change and Health Policy Fellow at the Climate Cares Centre, a collaboration between Imperial's Institute of Global Health Innovation and the Grantham Institute - Climate Change and the Environment. The Climate Cares Centre works to improve understanding and response to the interconnections between climate change and mental health. She works across policy, education and research. Jessica is a Grantham Affiliate, and is a Research Theme Lead for Women's Health and the Environment for the Imperial Women's Health Network.

Prior to joining Imperial, Jessica led Cancer Research UK’s policy research programme on cancer prevention, conducting and funding research to inform policy development on obesity, alcohol and tobacco. Her research focused primarily on children and young people, including the interplay between cancer risk factors and mental health and social determinants of health. While at Cancer Research UK Jessica also led a medical research sector-wide project on building research capacity in the UK’s National Health Service.

Jessica holds a MSc in Global Health from King’s College London with a specialist focus on disasters and adaptation, as part of which she collaborated with the MRC/Wits Rural Public Health and Health Transitions Research Unit in South Africa on research exploring barriers to accessing health care. She has a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge.
