BIO
Joel is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), in Saudi Arabia, currently working with Professor Martin Heeney in the Organic Materials Group (OMG).
He previously completed his PhD with Professor Ji-Seon Kim in the Nanoanalysis Group in Physics, during which he spent 3 months with CSEM Brasil (now Oninn) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. supervised by Dr Diego Bagnis. His thesis title was: 'Non-Fullerene Acceptor Based Organic Photovoltaics: Understanding Photostability and Low-Light Performance'.
Joel's main research is focused on organic semiconductors. In particular understanding the molecular structure property correlations in a range of devices from photovoltaics to electrochemical sensors.
