BIO

I am a particle physicist at Imperial College London, working on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). My research focuses on understanding the Higgs boson and its role in the Universe. By colliding protons at extremely high energies, the LHC allows us to produce Higgs bosons and precisely measure their properties, searching for deviations from the predictions of the Standard Model that could reveal new fundamental physics.

A central part of my research involves the statistical combination of Higgs boson measurements across multiple production and decay channels within CMS. By bringing together information from different measurements, these combinations provide the most comprehensive constraints on Higgs boson properties and allow us to search for subtle signatures of new physics. I am particularly interested in interpreting these measurements using Effective Field Theory (EFT), a systematic framework for investigating possible deviations from the Standard Model.

Alongside this, a major focus of my research is the application of advanced machine-learning (ML) techniques to particle physics, ranging from high-dimensional detector calibration to optimising event classification for greater sensitivity to new physics. I am also interested in deploying ML algorithms directly within the CMS detector's real-time trigger system, using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) to process collision data with extremely low latency. These developments aim to expand the scope of physics measurements possible at the future High-Luminosity LHC.
