Dr. Jayant Kumar is a dedicated surgeon and researcher with a focus on hepatobiliary & pancreatic surgery, complemented by his interest in kidney and liver transplants. He had the privilege of completing an ASTS-accredited multi-organ abdominal transplant fellowship at the University of Chicago, guided by the esteemed Prof John Fung.

Previously, Dr. Kumar received training in HPB and general surgery at Imperial College London and achieved board certification in general surgery. He is also honored to be a member of the respected Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.

Dr. Kumar's academic credentials are a testament to his unwavering commitment to advancing the field of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. He proudly holds an MD certification, complemented by a Master's degree in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery from the globally renowned Imperial College London. Under the esteemed guidance of Prof. Nagy Habib, renowned for the groundbreaking Habib-4X RF-based device facilitating bloodless liver resections, and Prof. Henri Bismuth, a trailblazer in liver transplantation, Dr. Kumar adeptly defended his thesis.

Dr. Kumar, in his continuous pursuit of excellence in the medical field, successfully completed his Ph.D. in Medicine from the esteemed University of Warwick. His scholarly work provided an in-depth exploration into the clinical ramifications and immuno-modulatory shifts ensuing from liver resection utilizing RF-based devices in liver cancer scenarios. Notably, his research illuminated the role of checkpoint inhibitors in early liver cancer. Within his Ph.D. thesis, Dr. Kumar meticulously delineated its prospective application as both neoadjuvant and adjuvant therapies for Hepatocellular Carcinoma in its nascent stages.

Dr. Kumar has consistently been recognized for his exemplary contributions to the field of medical sciences, as demonstrated by his receipt of the Best Investigator Award from the American College of Surgeons in 2015. His research endeavors extend to probing the potential and intricacies of normothermic perfusion in liver transplantation. During his tenure at Royal Free Hospital, London, he garnered comprehensive training in the Normothermic Perfusion of the liver and played a pivotal role as a primary team member.

His dedication to research has not only led to noteworthy publications but has also been lauded on international platforms. Dr. Kumar was honored with the Young Investigator Award at both the "Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Cancer Expert Meeting" in Seoul, South Korea, and the "Japanese Digestive Disease Week 2018" in Kobe, Japan.
