I joined the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI) at Imperial College as Laboratory Manager and Section Safety Coordinator for the Gene Therapy Group led by Professor Eric Alton and Professor Uta Griesenbach in 2019. In this role, I oversee the group’s laboratories, services, and day-to-day operations, while ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained at the highest level.

My career began at the Centre for Cardiovascular Genetics at UCL after graduating with a BSc in Chemistry and a PGDip (Eng) in Chemical Technology. I later graduated with an MSc in Medical Molecular Biology, further strengthening my foundation in biomedical research, and joined the MRC Prion Unit as a Research Officer, where my work focused on genetic influences in neurodegenerative disorders. Alongside my research activities, I developed a keen interest in laboratory management and operational best practices, which I further advanced by obtaining the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. 

In 2022, I obtained a Mental Health First Aider certificate and joined the NHLI Mental Health First Aider community, supporting workplace well-being by fostering a supportive, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
