MsJoanne Gardner

Jo works closely with the Director of Alumni Engagement to deliver the university’s alumni engagement strategy, supporting a global community of 270,000 alumni. Since joining Imperial College London in 2016, she has played a key role in strengthening alumni connections.

Collaborating across a broad and varied portfolio, Jo helps lead a high-performing team and advance initiatives that encourage alumni to stay connected, contribute to the university, and champion its strategic priorities. She supports a comprehensive communications programme that uses multiple platforms to engage alumni worldwide, contributes to the delivery of national and international events, develops volunteering opportunities, and helps manage alumni services and benefits, including Imperial Plexus, the digital networking platform.

Before joining Imperial, Jo built a career in education, engagement and development, working in arts and heritage outreach at Plymouth Museum, as Global Development Officer for Christie’s Auction House’s education division and Development Manager for Fulham Football Club Foundation. She also served as the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games Inspire Programmer for Southwest England, bringing together non-commercial projects as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
