TEACHING INTERESTS
Facility training & user upskilling
As DIGIBAT's Facility Manager, Jingyu leads the technical training programme, dedicated to upskilling the next generation of energy researchers in high-throughput methodologies. He designs and delivers hands-on induction modules for the facility’s core robotic platforms, including the Flex Catscreen, Opentrons, Sonotek, Cheersonic, SWingXL, Cellerate, and AutoCatX. His training focuses on:
Operational Proficiency: Guiding users on the safe and effective operation of automated synthesis and glovebox-integrated assembly systems.
Method Translation: Mentoring researchers on how to translate traditional manual experiments into reproducible, automated workflows (SOPs).
Data Management: Training users on best practices for digital metadata capture and digital twin integration.
Academic supervision
Jingyu has extensive experience in research supervision, having mentored over 10 undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD students during his PhD and postdoctoral research. While his primary focus is now the management of the DIGIBAT facility, he occasionally co-supervises specific projects that align closely with the development of new automation protocols or digital tools.
