DrJoseph Eggington

I am an Academic Visitor in the Space and Atmospheric Physics Group at the Blackett Laboratory, having previously been a Research Associate and PhD Student within the group.

My research interests in SPAT are focussed around the dynamics of the Earth's magnetosphere and its coupling with the solar wind and ionosphere. This involves developing the Gorgon code, which we use to run cutting-edge global magnetohydrodynamic simulations with the goal of improving our understanding of the near-Earth space environment and space weather. I was previously part of the UK-based SWIMMR Activities in Ground Effects (SAGE) team, and worked on the Space Weather Impact on Ground-based Systems (SWIGS) project.
