BIO
I am a post-doctoral Research Associate in the Advanced Minerals Processing Research Group (AMPRG).
My current work focuses on Data Uncertainty Quantification, particularly on the development of models and methods for quantifying uncertainty in data-based analysis, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Material Flow Analysis (MFA), and Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM), and Prediction & Forecasting. My current work combines advanced statistical analysis with robust numerical methods for solving complex problems in computationally efficient ways.
Other research interests include multi-physics modelling and simulation for industrial applications, i.e. Computational Fluid Dynamics, including multi-phase flow, turbulence modelling, radiative transport and coupled fluid flow-heat transfer. This involves the development of models and methods under different numerical frameworks, including finite elements method, finite volumes method, smoothed particle hydrodynamics and discrete elements method.
I hold a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad EAFIT (Colombia), a Master’s degree in Technology Management from Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia) and a PhD in Computational Physics from Imperial College London (United Kingdom). Additionally, I have over 10 years of experience in industry, focused in R&D projects for product development and process improvement for food manufacturing.
