BIO

Dr.  M. Imran Khan is a Visiting Research Fellow in the Centre for Energy Policy and Technology at Imperial College London’s Centre for Environmental Policy. He is also Professor of Energy and Environmental Engineering at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia, where he leads research excellence and impact initiatives and founded the Center of Applied Energy and Industrial Decarbonization.

 

His research sits at the interface of engineering analysis, environmental sustainability, industrial decarbonization, and energy policy. He works on clean hydrogen, solar thermal technologies, energy storage, renewable power systems, water-energy-climate interactions, circular economy, digital sustainability, and decision-support methods for low-carbon transitions. His work combines life cycle assessment, techno-economic analysis, systems thinking, policy analysis, and applied engineering insight to support evidence-based energy transition planning.

 

Dr. Khan has authored more than 175 peer-reviewed journal articles, and his work has received more than 10,000 citations. He has an H-index of 64 and repeated inclusion in the Stanford/Elsevier global top 2% scientist lists.

 

His broader professional profile combines academic leadership, energy-sector engineering experience, doctoral training, applied research, policy-facing knowledge exchange, editorial service, and international collaboration across the United Kingdom, Europe, North America, the Gulf, South Asia, and East Asia.
