BIO
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Imperial Memory Research Centre, investigating early intervention strategies for Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment using multimodal neuroimaging approaches, including MRI and PET.
I recieved my PhD in Cognitive and Clinical Neuroscience at The University of Sydney in 2025 under the supervision of Dr Claire O’Callaghan and Professor James (Mac) Shine. My doctoral research examined the role of neuromodulatory systems in Parkinson’s disease and sleep in healthy ageing through a multimodal framework combining pharmacological manipulations, functional MRI, simultaneous EEG-fMRI, eye tracking, and cognitive assessments.
My research focuses on the neurobiological mechanisms underlying adaptive cognition, memory consolidation and neurodegeneration, with a particular interest in how disruptions to these systems contribute to neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. During my PhD, I used functional neuroimaging and pharmacological interventions, including noradrenergic and dopaminergic drugs, to investigate the neural basis of symptoms such as visual hallucinations in Parkinson’s disease and to characterise the dynamical properties of sleep oscillations that support hippocampal-cortical communication and memory processes.
Across my doctoral and postdoctoral work, I have combined innovative neuroimaging methodologies with cognitive neuroscience frameworks to generate new insights into adaptive cognition, sleep, memory and brain health across ageing and disease. My current research aims to identify biomarkers and therapeutic targets that can facilitate earlier intervention and improve outcomes for individuals at risk of cognitive decline and dementia.
