As a Research Manager to Professor Darzi, Director of the Institute of Global Health Innovation, I support the development and oversight of a large and diverse research portfolio, and act as the first point of contact for all research-related activities pertaining to Professor Darzi.

Prior to joining Imperial College London, I was the Senior Scientific Operations Manager for the Breast Cancer Research Division, at the ICR, and have previously spent 12 years in the USA where I took on different posts. These included the one of Operations Manager at a Biotech, Laboratory Manager at The Rockefeller University, and Research Specialist/ Laboratory Manager at the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, for Professor and Director Tyler Jacks.

I obtained a degree in Biology from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon and am a Gulbenkian Doctoral Programme in Biomedicine PhD Program alumni. I did my PhD in Developmental Biology under the supervision of Professor Alexander Schier at Harvard University, and held a postdoctoral research position at MIT working on the Human Microbiome, with Prof. Eric Alm.
