I am a Research Postgraduate in Aeronautics through the Doctoral Programme in Sustainable Aviation at the Brahmal Institute. In addition, I am a Fellow of the Software Sustainability Institute.

My PhD research focuses on the influence of climate on aircraft turbulence. According to studies, turbulence at cruising altitudes is projected to become more frequent and intense as the climate changes. In particular, Clear Air Turbulence (CAT), which cannot be detected by onboard systems, is a safety concern. Currently, I am investigating whether contrail forming regions are related to CAT to understand if there are safety implications to contrail avoidance. As part of this, I have developed an open source library - rojak - for computing CAT diagnostics.

I hold an MEng in Aeronautical Engineering from Imperial College London. Prior to starting my PhD, I worked at THG as a Software Engineer. During that time, I worked on two UKRI Digital Security by Design (DSbD) projects. The first was on a cybersecurity demonstrator for the e-commerce industrial market. The second was to develop a robust and mature port of the Java programming language (OpenJDK HotSpot Java Virtual Machine) to CHERI hardware (Arm's Morello board). We managed to show using CVE-2015-4843 that our JVM can protect against buffer overflows! In addition, it protected against the vector for type confusion in that CVE. I also led the work package on the Graal compiler (a just-in-time compiler) and the running of guest languages (e.g. JavaScript) on our JVM using Graal. Most importantly, we showed that general application code (such as an e-commerce platform) would require no or minimal code changes to receive this protection!
