DrHayriye Pehlivan Solak

Hayriye Pehlivan Solak completed her PhD in the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Istanbul Technical University. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the ESTHETICS (Energy Saving Techniques for Energy Efficient Vessels and Emission Reduction towards Green Shipping) project in collaboration with ITU, CTO and TUBITAK in 2021 for the development of a ship hull optimization framework with respect to wave resistance (bow part) as well as viscous resistance and propeller inflow uniformity (stern part), leveraging parametric hull definition and metamodels.
Hayriye joined École Centrale de Nantes, LHEEA (Laboratoire de recherche en Hydrodynamique, Énergétique et Environnement Atmosphérique) in 2022 as a postdoctoral researcher to work on automated multi-fidelity metamodel-based shape optimization for lifting hydrofoils: a collaboration between Centrale Nantes and CNR-INM (National Research Council - Institute of Marine Engineering).
She joined Imperial College London as a Research Associate to investigate the UK aerospace technologies and business scenarios for the green economy and to develop advanced computational methods for the design and integration of novel aircraft technology to reduce environmental impact, which is supported by the Brahmal Vasudevan Institute for Sustainable Aviation and the Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance of Imperial College London.
