DrHarshavardhan Jatkar

My research explores how built environment and infrastructure systems support more equitable, sustainable and healthy futures. I develop interdisciplinary, community-oriented, participatory, and systems-based approaches to generating sustainability indicators, evidence on lived experiences and translating these insights into effective policy and governance frameworks.

My research portfolio includes the GCRF-funded project Grounded Energy Modelling for Equitable Urban Development in the Global South (GEMDev), the British Academy-funded project Capabilities-led Energy Poverty Alleviation via Innovative Community Solutions (CaPAS), and the European Commission-funded project Climate Action to Advance Healthy Societies in Europe (CATALYSE). He is currently Co-Investigator on the NFRF-funded project Justice First: Community-Embedded Energy Transition Planning for Climate Resilience.
