PhD Research
His PhD focused on the control of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) disease in the UK. The UK Government aims to pivot bTB control to focus on developing new tests and vaccines for cattle herds in the medium-to-long-term, and deploying badger vaccination programmes in the short-to-medium-term. The aim of Henry's research was to understand how these different control mechanisms could work in tandem in the future, considering different stakeholder opinions.

Current Research

Since finishing his PhD, Henry now works for UKCEH as a Socio-agroecology Scientist, and is concerned with how crop rotation regimes can be used to help farmers adapt to the effects of climate change. His current research explores the opportunites and constraints of new regimes from farmers' points of view across Europe's Atlantic biogeographic area.

External Collaborations
Henry is also an associate at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Conservation Science, where he is working on the Mitigation & Conservation Hierarchy framework, the Nature Positive Universities initiative in collaboration with UNEP, and the FoodMetric calculator project. All of this research aims to advance sustainability at an institutional level, and provide decision-makers with the right frameworks to achieve carbon and biodiversity targets in tandem.

Henry is a member of the IUCN Commission on Ecosystem Management, and an elected Member of the Royal Society of Biology (MRSB). Henry is also a campaigner for the Fairtrade Foundation, and an ambassador for the Holocaust Educational Trust.
