Global Change, Infectious Disease Outbreaks, Natural Hazards, Conflicts, Population Vulnerability

 

My research focuses on using statistical modelling and machine and deep learning to further understand the drivers of infectious disease outbreaks globally, with previous work on cholera, Ebola, Rift Valley fever, leishmaniasis, Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever, dengue, West Nile and Lyme disease. 

My interests include how we can better integrate climate data into epi models, climate extremes, conflict, population vulnerability and infectious diseases impacting those most vulnerable in the population, with experience working across a number of partners in Africa. 

 

My educational background is in veterinary medicine, climate change and epidemiology.
