BIO

Gemma is a Science Communication Researcher and Practitioner at Imperial College London. 

 

As Communications Officer for the Data Science Institute, Gemma manages all internal and external communications and is responsible for planning, delivering, and improving digital communication services for the DSI, including website content, social media channels, newsletters, digital publications, and any other content that promotes the work of the Institute. Her role also involves public engagement and outreach work, including stakeholder management, planning and delivering outreach events.

 

Alongside her role at the DSI, Gemma has recently begun a PhD in Science Communication with Imperial's Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication, focusing on science-related misinformation. She is part of the Data Learning Group, and supervised by Dr Kanta Dihal and Dr Rossella Arcucci. 


Gemma holds a BSc in Environmental Science from the University of Exeter, and an MSc in Science Communication from Imperial.
