Giulia is a PhD student at the CDT AI4H (Centre for Doctoral Training in AI for Healthcare). Her research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare, with a particular emphasis on speech recognition technologies for clinical applications.
Her research interests include developing ASR algorithms to improve recognition of impaired speech implementing attention mechanisms and hybrid models (e.g., Conformers, HMM-DNN, LSTM) to enhance ASR accuracy for pathological speech. She is also integrating multimodal systems combining phonetic and text transcriptions for more accurate speech assessments.
