DrGita Ralleigh

Gita Ralleigh is a poet, writer & creative writing lecturer. During a long career as a medical doctor, she studied for an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck, University of London, and wrote short stories and  poetry, winning the Wasafiri prize for fiction in 2013. She also has an MSc in Medical Humanities from King’s College London. Her children’s novels, The Destiny of Minou Moonshine and The Voyage of Sam Singh are published by Bloomsbury UK. Poetry includes 'A Terrible Thing', Bad Betty Press, 'Siren' from Broken Sleep Books, and 'Empirical', from The Braag. She lives in London with her two children and teaches creative writing to science and medical undergraduates at Imperial College's Centre for Languages, Culture and Communication. She is also personal tutor to students on the intercalated BSc in Humanities, Philosophy and Law.
