DrGareth Hyde

Gareth has been Director of Operations at NHLI since January 2025. Before taking up his current role, Gareth held positions as the laboratory manager of the Vascular Science Section, the Safety and Technical Services Manager in NHLI, and, more recently, he was the Head of the Space Programme in the Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, and part of the faculty operations team. As the Head of the Space Programme, Gareth was responsible for the series of new build and refurbishment projects that make up the space programme and for business-as-usual space management within the faculty.

Gareth gained his BSc Hons in biochemistry from the University of Bristol in 2002 and his PhD in Biomedical Science from the University of Manchester in 2007. Following his PhD, Gareth spent seven years as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Manchester and Imperial College.
