BIO
Giulio is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at Imperial College London, where he works on computational triboelectricity to advance its fundamental understanding and inform its application in energy harvesting, semiconductors, and sensing technologies, with broader relevance to robotics, healthcare, and smart transportation.
He has developed one of the most accurate and predictive models of triboelectricity to date, uncovering design principles that have led to a tenfold increase in the sensitivity of a pressure sensor. His research bridges quantum and mesoscale modelling, experimental validation, and real-world device design.
Giulio also brings expertise in the simulation of energy materials, semiconductors, and tribological systems. The quality and impact of his work have earned him invitations to deliver talks and seminars at leading international institutions, including NENS 2025, the Fraunhofer Institute in Freiburg, King's College London, and others.
