Fleur Stephanie van Dijk, MD, PhD obtained her academic degree in 2011 at the VU University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and she finalised her medical training in clinical genetics in 2012. Since 2016 she works as consultant clinical geneticist in the North West Thames Regional Genetics Service covering North West London.

She has extensive experience in clinical and genetic aspects of hereditary connective tissue disorders, including monogenic Ehlers- Danlos (EDS) types, osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) and aortopathy. She leads the national Ehlers-Danlos service covering the South of England.

She has together with research collaborators among others reported novel genetic causes for OI and aortopathy and has co-authored > 50 publications. She is Chief Investigator of the NEEDS study aimed at exploring the natural history of rare types of EDS including vascular EDS.

She aims to improve management including therapy for people with inherited connective tissue conditions by bringing together clinical and basic research.
