BIO
Florent Seichepine received his engineering degree in material science from the national polytechnique intitute of Toulouse, France (2008) and his M.Sc. degree in Materials, nanomaterials and multi-materials from the University of Toulouse, France (2008). He obtained his PhD (2011) in nanophysics for his work on large scale integration of carbon nanotube as interconnects while working for the CNRS and INTEL Ireland.
From 2012 to 2016, he pursued his research in the Frey initiative research unit in RIKEN, Kobe, Japan, working on large scale integration of nano-sensors for high resolution study of neuronal tissues.
He joined Imperial College London, UK in May 2016 as a Research Associate in the the Hamlyn Centre for Medical Robotics and took the responsibility of facility manager of the centre in 2018. Among other, he develloped the Micro and Nano robotics research platform and the micro-sensors integration laboratory.
He finally joined the Department of Bioengineering as facility manager of the Bionanaofabriction clean room in 2021. This new laboratory has the ambition to bring Atomic Layer Deposition capabilities for bio-material to the researcher of the department and beyond.
He also oversee the coordination between the microfabrication capabilities across the college platform for the department of Bioengineering.
His technical expertise ranged from microfabrication technology development, microfluidics, micro/nano robotics, packaging of CMOS and microsensors and the use of nanomaterials for electronics and sensing in biological environments.
