DrFrank Ryan

I am a clinical psychologist and cognitive therapist. My research interests include motivation and cognition, especially in the context of addiction. I am developing clinical applications to address core aspects of addiction and co-occurring mental health problems in a cognitive neuroscience framework.
In October 2022 I launched Volume ii of a Research Topic (a call for papers) on reward processing in motivational and affective disorders in Frontiers in Psychology. This was published in July 2024.
I am a member of the Algorithmic Human Development Project. at Imperial College
My book Cognitive Therapy for Addiction: Motivation and Change was published in 2013 by Wiley Blackwell. In March 2022 this related article was published as a book chapter: Psychotherapeutic strategies to enhance motivation and cognitive control.
