RESEARCH

Overview


My current interests are primarily in optical and mechanical sensors, sensor networks for smart environments, micro-robotics, including medical robotics, and wireless power transfer. I have worked extensively in materials and methods for microfabrication, and microfabricated devices. Major past areas include glass-on-silicon integrated optics, rare-earth doped glasses for integrated optical amplifiers, self-assembly techniques for 3D microstructures, surface plasmon microscopy, energy harvesters, and RF and optical MEMS devices.
