Estefania Quenta is Postdoctoral Fellow at Imperial College London, awarded by the Schlumberger Foundation (Sponsored Researcher). She is an environmental scientist, broadly interested in how freshwater ecosystems respond to environmental changes to provide water conservation measures under a climate change context. How climate change is reshaping water quality? . Her Mountain Mirror project is trying to adress this issue. Currently, she investigates the potential effects of glacier retreat on water quality in relation to the ecosystem health concept in Andean streams. Her research includes the analysis of trace metals, diatoms, algae and cyanobacteria that might pose a risk to the health of people and ecosystems.
