Dr Emily Pyne is a Teaching Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine for Postgraduate Allergy Studies. She leads the Research Skills module for the Allergy MSc alongside involvement in teaching, assessment, and student support across the rest of the Allergy course. Dr Pyne is recognised as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and is passionate about the delivery of high quality teaching in biomedical and medical education. 

Dr Pyne's research background is in cancer cell biology and analytical chemistry, with particular experience and expertise in the use of 3D cell culture models and microfluidics in cancer research. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and has worked on a range of research projects, including the development of a spheroid-on-chip microfluidic platform for better understanding interstitial fluid flow in solid tumour microenvironments.
