BIO
I am a systems biologist and PhD candidate in Bioengineering at Imperial supervised by Prof. Reiko Tanaka. My research uses mechanistic mathematical modelling and nonlinear dynamical systems to investigate how interactions between biological processes shape disease development and progression. I have applied this approach to tuberculosis, atopic dermatitis, and periodontitis, with a particular interest in the mechanisms that determine disease initiation, persistence, and recovery.
I hold a BSc in Genomic Biotechnology from UANL and an MSc in Systems Biology from UNAM, both in Mexico. During my doctoral studies, I also conducted research at Osaka University, where I worked with a computational framework that combines large language models and natural language processing to extract biological interactions from scientific literature and support the automated construction of mechanistic mathematical models.
