BIO

As Faculty of Medicine Safety Advisor for St Mary's and White City, Diane provides health and safety advice to the Faculty's Departments and Sections, delivers training and monitors compliance and safety performance.

After working in research for 10 years Diane was Laboratory Manager for a biotechnology company, and has worked full-time in health & safety since 2000, mainly in universities and including Biological Safety Officer roles. Prior to joining Imperial in 2014, Diane was Head of Laboratory Services, Health & Safety for a major MRC Centre. Diane is a former Examiner for the NEBOSH Certificate, Construction Certificate, International Certificate, and Diploma.

Diane's professional interests include laboratory safety (including biological and chemical hazards), health & safety law, and safety management systems. Having worked in an academic department as well as central University safety functions, Diane also has experience and training in laser safety, radiation, mechanical engineering, events and fire safety.
