BIO

Current Interests: Technologies for trust and patient empowerment, Cybersecurity and health data sharing. Artificial Intelligence, NHS quality improvement working with front line staff, Patient communications, Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement in clinical research. Patient Lead for Royal Society of Medicine's Digital Health Council. Public member of NIHR PGfAR panel.

Previously Programme Lead in the Dept of Surgery and Cancer, managing research and development projects using mobile health, serious games and other emerging technologies in major incident management training, and to track patients outside of clinical setting.

Career prior to Imperial College: 1975-2003: Digital technology product development, application, marketing, sales and support. Responsible for global web and intranet sites for $1Bn multinational. 2004-2008: Knowledge Transfer Leader at National Physical Laboratory, responsible for communications strategy for NHS and other customers in ‘Quality of Life’ Division.
