Dexter Wiseman is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National Heart and Lung Institute and a consultant Respiratory and General Internal Medicine physician at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust.
As part of his research project Dexter is currently working in Professor Jadwiga 'Wisia' Wedzicha's lab. He has previously helped run the London COPD exacerbation cohort. His research interests include viral causes for COPD exacerbation. His PhD involved looking at the role RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) has to play both at exacerbation and during periods of stability.
Dexter is a member of the international consortium RESCEU (REspiratory Syncytial virus Consortium in EUrope) and works closely with Professor Peter Openshaw and Dr Ryan Thwaites investigating the immunological markers of RSV susceptibility in COPD patients.
