RESEARCH

Research Overview

I am interested in using computers and mathematics to find hidden patterns in data, and in methodologies for transforming these patterns into powerful tools that enhance our understanding and aid us in solving challenging tasks.

My core research interest at the moment is network statistical learning, which combines ideas from statisical learning, graph theory, network science and mathematics in general to exploit and/or estimate network structures in data. We profit from the network structure by designing supervised, semi-supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms that can manage interactions.

Said procedure results in interpretable statical machine learning models, which are essential for application in high-stakes problems, such as medical diagnostics.
