I am a Clinical Pharmacologist, Campus Director for Hammersmith Hospital, and Head of Clinical Studies at the NIHR Imperial Clinical Research Facility (ICRF). The ICRF hosts clinical trials and experimental medicine studies, supporting Imperial College researchers in translating laboratory discoveries into medicines of the future.

My research programme integrates clinical and basic science to investigate novel therapeutic targets in neurodegenerative disease, with a particular focus on the vascular contribution to neurodegeneration — an interest that has now extended to pulmonary vascular disease. My group was established with support from an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellowship and is currently funded by a British Heart Foundation Senior Clinical Fellowship.

Alongside my research and leadership roles, I devote approximately 20% of my time to clinical medicine and education. This includes seeing acute medical patients, leading Pharmacology teaching at Imperial Medical School, and directing the MRes in Clinical Research. I also contribute to medicines governance at a regional level, chairing the North West London Integrated Medicines Formulary Committee — which covers prescribing for approximately 2.6 million people — and the Subregional IVIg Committee, overseeing stewardship of this life-saving but scarce resource across six NHS Trusts.
