DrDavid Gibran Lugo Palacios

David Lugo joined the Centre for Health Policy at the Institute of Global Health Innovation as Research Fellow in Health Economics in October 2018. He holds a BA in Economics from the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM), an MSc in Health Economics and Policy from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a PhD in Health Economics from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM).

Prior to joining Imperial College London, David was a Research Associate at the Manchester Centre for Health Economics in the University of Manchester. He has also professional experience in both the public and private sectors in Mexico, including the Ministry of Finance of the Mexico City Government, the Ministry of Social Development and Cuasar Capital, a consultancy firm specialised in public finance.

David's main research interests are health microeconometrics, policy evaluation, performance measurement and quality of health care. He is currently working on the identification and measurement of knowledge spillovers of health service delivery interventions using social network analysis.
