BIO

Diego Freire Ordóñez is an experienced Chemical Engineer and Technical Consultant specializing in sustainable chemical process design, techno-economic analysis (TEA), and life cycle assessment (LCA). With more than a decade spanning academia and industry, he leverages advanced process engineering, optimization, and simulation to deliver innovative, scalable solutions for decarbonization and sustainability. He is currently a Research Associate at Imperial College London, focusing on developing economically viable pathways for fuels and plastics from CO₂ and bio-based feedstocks. Diego’s industry collaborations include projects with Schlumberger and the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment, as well as consultancy work with leading national and international companies. His technical toolkit includes Aspen Plus, GAMS, GREET, SimaPro, and programming in Python, MATLAB, and Excel, complemented by expertise in advanced energy systems and renewable technologies. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London.
