BIO
Debargha is a Research Associate in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London. He is primarily working in the Leverhulme project “Essential Services for a 100% Renewables Transformation of the Global Power System”, and also in the UK-led team for the Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society (EPICS) Center. His research is focussed on the stability analysis and dynamic studies of the electric power grid that is dominated with inverter-based resources (IBRs).
Debargha received his PhD in Power Systems at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi in 2023. In his PhD thesis “Dynamic Flexibility Studies in Power Systems” he studied the impact of location-specific power fluctuation, which may arise due to demand variability or supply intermittency, on two system inherent properties – inertia and flexibility, and their spatial distribution. He received the Grid-India Power System Award (GIPSA - 2024) in the doctoral thesis category.
