Darius Armstrong-James is a Professor of Infectious Diseases and Medical Mycology in the Department of Microbiology, Imperial College London and honorary consultant physician in infectious diseases and medical mycology at Imperial College Healthcare and the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals at Guy's and St. Thomas'.
 
He leads the Imperial College Network of Excellence in Fungal Science, the UKRI Fungal One Health and Antimicrobial Resistance Network (co-lead Mike Bromley), the UKRI South East Asia DAR-SEA Research Network, the Fleming Initiative GSK Grand Challenge in Antifungal Drug Discovery and AI (co-lead, Jonathan Golob, GSK) and the Fungal Disease Service at Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, GSTT (co-lead, Anand Shah). He is co-director of the LifeArc-Cystic Fibrosis Trust PRECISION Translational Innovation Hub (Lead Jane Davies).  His translational research laboratory is clinically-driven, and focuses on host-fungal pathogen-polymicrobial interactions, and fungal antimicrobial resistance, primarily in the major mould pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus.
